3. WRF & NCL
3.1. What is WRF (Weather Research & Forecasting Model )?
WRF is a state-of-the-art mesoscale numerical weather prediction system designed for both atmospheric research and operational forecasting applications.
The WRF model provides meteorological applications across scales from tens of meters to thousands of kilometers. WRF is capable of generating simulations based on either actual atmospheric conditions or idealized conditions. Currently, WRF is in operational use at NCEP and other national meteorological centers, as well as in real-time forecasting configurations at research institutes, universities, and companies.
3.2. What is NCL (NCAR Command Language )?
NCL is a free-interpreted language specifically designed to process and visualize scientific data.
NCL is widely used in Earth science fields such as meteorology, oceanography, and climatology.
It supports a variety of data formats and provides powerful tools for data processing, analysis, and graphics creation.
